It shouldn’t even be a question when you bring up genders in the heavy metal realm, but unfortunately it happens to be a male dominated genre. One thing that irritates me more than anything is when people say things like “She’s really good…for a girl”, which couldn’t come off as more insulting and idiotic. The good news is that metal does seem to be on the up when it comes to female stars, and these are just a few who seem to be leading the charge in the right direction.

It’s important to spread the word about these bands, so as the females no longer get categorized as just a pretty face that screams. Females dominate any other genre of music, so why is there so much segregation when it comes to heavy metal? As with any other form of music, it shouldn’t be judged by whats between their legs.
